Blendreed est le projet solo du saxophoniste Musina Ebobissé, né en 2017 d’expérimentations avec des pédales d’effets. À la frontière entre acoustique et électronique, le projet tisse un langage singulier, où se rencontrent jazz, ambient, post-rock et musiques expérimentales.
Plutôt qu’un simple dialogue entre instruments, Blendreed s’attache à explorer la matière sonore elle-même. Le saxophone, transformé en temps réel, se démultiplie et se métamorphose : les lignes mélodiques se fragmentent, se déploient, se saturent, se transposent, créant un univers en constante mutation.
De cette recherche naissent des paysages musicaux où se croisent des résonances de Coltrane, l’éther de Brian Eno, les couleurs harmoniques de Ravel et l’électricité incandescente de Hendrix — un espace mouvant, à la fois intime et expansif, méditatif et vibrant.

Blendreed is the solo project of saxophonist Musina Ebobissé, born in 2017 out of experiments with effect pedals. At the crossroads of acoustic and electronic worlds, the project weaves a singular language where jazz, ambient, post-rock, and experimental music converge.
Rather than a simple dialogue between instruments, Blendreed delves into the very substance of sound. The saxophone, transformed in real time, multiplies and mutates: melodic lines fragment, expand, saturate, and transpose, shaping a universe in constant flux.
From this exploration emerge musical landscapes resonating with echoes of Coltrane, the ethereal atmospheres of Brian Eno, the harmonic colors of Ravel, and the incandescent electricity of Hendrix — a shifting space at once intimate and expansive, meditative and vibrant.

French saxophonist Musina Ebobissé unveils ARMAUN, his third release under the Blendreed name. ARMAUN – Ambient Resistance Music Against Urban Noise – takes a stand against the interference of invasive irritants with sublime slow motion music. Its four pieces evoke an ecstatic peace, allowing both artist and listener to breathe deeply. As the compositions unfold, each exhalation resonates at the frequency of the human mind in repose.
Layers of treated and reverberant saxophone fuse into a hypnagogic whole, as elongated melodies interact with their own fragmented and transformed echoes. In a semi dream state, existence is experienced at a languid pace, as each phrase decays into a haze of crosscurrents.
If ARMAUN recalls the fourth world music of Jon Hassell and Eno, it equally finds oblique kinship with Andre 3000’s “New Blue Sun”. Likewise, it shares essential DNA with vaporwave and the tape-loop experiments of Terry Riley. Conceived as a confluence of acoustic and electronic elements, Blendreed explores the intersection of jazz, ambient, post-rock and experimental music.
This is work of exquisite beauty with a direct function. It provides an antidote to the bombardment of our senses. After unhooking your mind from temporal entanglements, ARMAUN will absorb your soul.
